1) What age is this for?
a) At Home with Hebrew – Alphabet
– below 7 with parents helps
– about 7 and above
b) Hebrew Kingergarten
– designed for young children, but seriously useful to
adults and older children as well.
c) Weingreen Biblical Hebrew – High School and up
d) HaYesod Modern Hebrew – High School and up
2) How long does each course take?
a) At Home with Hebrew – Alphabet
– 13-14 days best case
– a month if you need to repeat or review more
b) Hebrew Kindergarten
– could be 2 or 3 months, there are 8 short stories,
ideally one or two weeks each
c) Weingreen Biblical Hebrew – 18 – 24 months
d) HaYesod Modern Hebrew – about 16 – 24 months
3) What to do to prepare for a Bar Mitzvah?
a) definitely start with “At Home with Hebrew” for the alphabet reading
b) you should then consult with your Rabbi
4) Can I enroll in a live Zoom/class?
If I start another class, I may email existing site members.
Right now, the HaYesod Modern Hebrew is already on Lesson 18, so it’s not really possible to join in the middle. I’m not sure when or if there will be another set of Zoom classes.
