What's one of the first words a parent much teach a child? The word "No!", which is "LO" in Hebrew.
In Hebrew, there is no word for "not", just use the word "no".
NOTE: "LO" can be spelled two ways. With an ALEPH it means "no", but with a VAV it means "to or for him".
